An iPod without iTunes

I like my iPod nano.

I don't like iTunes. In particular, I don't like having to install more software when all I need to do is send MP3s to my ipod.

No, I don't need music management software. No, I don't need another jukebox thingy. I already have Winamp. I like Winamp. And guess what? There's a Winamp plugin for iPod management called ml_ipod

To quote the website:
The winamp ipod plugin (aka ml_ipod) is a plugin for winamp. It allows you to manage your iPod from within the winamp media library. It supports all kinds of iPods, from the classic first generation iPods, to the iPod mini, photo, nano and shuffle and everything in between.

I used it last night, and it was pretty easy to use after a quick perusal of the online docs. Lovin' it.

iPod Nano!

Whoever Steve Jobs hired for design is a genius! Check this out:

It's got a color screen, it's flash-based, and it's smaller than the iPod mini! I may just have to upgrade!!

For a terrific review, check out the Wall Street Journal's Walter S. Mossberg.
